Paterson officials have rescheduled graduations for five high schools halted on June 23 after 16 people were taken to hospitals with heat exhaustion.

At least 59 people were overcome by heat during a Paterson high school graduation ceremony on the morning of June 23 at Hinchliffe Stadium.

After declaring “a mass casualty event,” emergency management officials shut down Paterson’s graduation as 166 were overcome by the heat.
