President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine said on Sunday that a ceasefire with Russia was possible at any moment, calling on Kyiv’s allies to apply greater pressure on Moscow to put the measure in place.

President Trump "wants to see a permanent ceasefire first, to stop the killing, stop the bloodshed," press secretary Karoline Leavitt said.

The Kremlin said on Saturday it wanted what it called a "definitive" response from Ukraine to Russian President Vladimir Putin's offer of a three-day ceasefire to coincide with World War Two victory commemorations this month.
