The latest update to Python in Visual Studio Code includes a new extension for Python formatting that was contributed by a member of the open source community.
Once you have installed Python and VS Code IDE, all you need to do is create a Python file. To do that, open Visual Studio Code, go to File > New File, search for Python file, and click on it.
Over the past few years, it has exploded in popularity. Thanks to Microsoft’s Python extension for Visual Studio Code, VS Code has also become one of the best tools for working with Python.

Besides the extensions for mainstream languages like C++/C, Python, and C#, the VS Code Marketplace has plugins for the more niche languages, like Dart, Kotlin, and Julia.
But before we do that, we need to install the Python Extension in VS Code. To do so, open Visual Studio Code and click on the Extensions icon.
