Meta has released an open source machine learning model, Code Llama, that can be instructed to generate and debug code.

(Reuters) - Meta Platforms on Thursday said it would release an artificial intelligence (AI) model designed to assist in writing computer code, furthering its push into the new technology.

Meta developed a code-generating model called CodeCompose, which it claims that it's using in house for production systems.

Mark Zuckerberg says most of Meta's AI code will be written by AI by 2026, aiming for 50% automation as AI tools take on a bigger role in development.
