米Microsoftは、コードエディタVisual Studio CodeにおけるJava関連機能に対して、3月に行われたアップデートの内容を、3月21日（現地時間）付の公式ブログ投稿にて紹介している。

The regular monthly update to Java on Visual Studio Code adds support for the latest edition of the language, Java 18.

今回の新版では、ビルドツール「Gradle」向けの機能拡張を、Java機能拡張に取り込んだ。別々の機能拡張としてMicrosoftが提供していたが、GradleとJavaの両方を使う開発者から、機能拡張を見付けにくいという声を受け、一体化を決めたとしている。
