Hurricane Erin continues its northerly track and is set to deliver impacts to the beaches in New Jersey and Delaware.

Local beachgoers are being warned of dangerous rip currents and high surf along the Massachusetts coast due to the powerful Hurricane Erin far out at sea. The National Weather Service’s Boston office has issued a forecast warning of rip currents that can pull swimmers away from the shore and into deep water.

Hurricane Erin has battered North Carolina’s Outer Banks with strong winds and waves that flooded part of the main highway and surged under beachfront homes

"The pervasive nature of microplastic pollution presents a complex legal challenge. While international treaties address marine plastic debris, the enforcement and regulation of microplastics specifically are still developing," Arroyo Vargas observed.
