A federal judge has ordered the results of North Carolina’s Supreme Court race to be certified, in a ruling that, if upheld, would wrap up an election that had drawn out for months after a challenge over the eligibility of thousands of ballots.

Chief U.S. District Judge Richard Myers in Raleigh sided with Justice Allison Riggs ordering N.C.'s election board to not throw out any ballots.

Judge Richard Myers of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina, a Trump appointee, ruled against Griffin’s efforts, saying that the North Carolina Board of Elections must formally declare Riggs the winner of the race.
