Tropical Storm Erin caused few problems for oil and gas companies operating in the Gulf of Mexico, the companies and the U.S. Minerals Management Service said on Thursday.

Energy company El Paso <EP.N> said Thursday its South Texas operations were unaffected by Tropical Storm Erin, although a rig contractor evacuated one rig prior to the passage of the storm.
