Just three people remain missing — down from nearly 100 at last count — since the Texas Hill Country was pounded by massive flooding on July 4, officials said Saturday.

Before light broke on July 4, dozens of families in Texas Hill Country had their lives changed forever. A downpour caused waterways to rise to near-unprecedented levels, creating floods that devastated a children's summer camp and swept away homes and cars.

Last week, officials said 97 people were missing in Kerr County. Now, it’s down to three. The drop is substantial, but such wild fluctuations can happen after disasters.
