Kilmar Abrego Garcia was taken into custody Monday by immigration authorities and the Department of Homeland Security said he is being processed for deportation to Uganda.

Abrego Garcia is in the country illegally, but an immigration judge said he could not be deported to El Salvador because he reportedly faced danger there. The Department of Justice believes he is a member of the MS-13 gang. He was also accused of violence against his wife.
