The Timberwolves on Wednesday night picked their first player under the leadership of new owners Marc Lore and Alex Rodriguez.With the No. 17 pick in the NBA draft, the Wolves selected Joan Beringer.

The Timberwolves decided to bolster their frontcourt depth with their first pick of this year’s NBA draft, selecting forward/center Joan Beringer on Wednesday. Beringer, at 6-foot-11, most recently played in Slovenia and averaged 5.

The Timberwolves are ecstatic with their 17th overall pick of Joan Beringer, as GM Matt Lloyd has praised him for his play and character after the 2025 Draft.
