Wawa, a Pennsylvania-based convenience store whose fans enjoy its fresh foods, including custom hoagies, is opening its first Louisville location.

Wawa's first Louisville location will open July 24. Each store will employ approximately 35 people. Wawa is expanding into Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana as part of a larger Midwest expansion.

The Wawa is expected to add approximately 7,000 new trips per day, according to Hoffman, and 7,400 trips per day on Oakland Road, and 22,000 for Nazareth Pike in regard to daily volume.

The new Wawa store is proposed for the intersection of Bath Pike (Route 512 North) and Highland Avenue, just a quarter mile north of Route 22.
