Iran has told mediators Qatar and Oman that it is not open to negotiating a ceasefire while it is under Israeli attack, an official briefed on the communications told Reuters on Sunday, as the two foes launched fresh attacks and raised fears of a wider conflict.

President Donald Trump said overnight Tuesday he’s seeking “a real end” to the conflict between Israel and Iran, arguing that outcome would be preferable to a ceasefire while also suggesting his patience for negotiations was wearing thin.

Iran has reportedly refused to negotiate a ceasefire with mediators Qatar and Oman. An official, speaking to Reuters on the condition of anonymity, said Iran would only consider serious negotiations after responding to Israeli pre-emptive strikes. Iran made "clear that it will not negotiate while under attack," the official said.
