米Microsoftは5月19日（現地時間）、Windows 11で「MCP」をネイティブサポートすると発表した。同社は今後数カ月の間に一部のパートナーにプライベート開発者プレビューとして提供し、フィードバックを募る。

Microsoftは、Windows 11向けの大きなアップグレードを多数発表しました。これらにはスタートメニュー、Copilot AI、そしてペイントやSnipping ToolといったWindowsのコアツールが含まれます。

MCPは、AIモデルと外部データソースやサービスをつなぐ規格。Anthropicが2024年11月に発表したもので、同社は“AI界のUSB-C”をうたう。3月には米OpenAIも対応を発表し、実質的なデファクトスタンダードとして普及が進んでいる。
