Officials in Laurel County have issued a nightly curfew for the City of London and other areas of Laurel County.

The community of Laurel County, Kentucky, is grieving the loss of more than a dozen people, including a firefighter who spent nearly four decades helping others, after a tornado destroyed his neighborhood while he was on duty.

Disaster relief and clean up continued Monday in Laurel County, Kentucky after a tornado touched down in the area late Friday night.

Rescue crews raced to search houses in a Laurel County subdivision, a few hours after brutal storms and an unconfirmed tornado devastated parts of the county.

Members of a trailer park in London, Kentucky, were severely affected by storms last Friday. Residents of the trailer park returned to find their community destroyed. Many said they weren't prepared for what they saw, with holes in their homes and some being picked up and thrown yards away.

The family's home was picked up and thrown across the street when a tornado ripped through the area, destroying everything they own.

Mercy Chefs was founded by Gary LeBlanc a year after Katrina hit. Since then, the organization has traveled all over to help people through devastating times.

Walmart is partnering with Operation BBQ Relief to provide free meals to those in need in the Kentucky counties impacted by the deadly tornado.
