Pixar's 'Elio' has so much promise to be a fun intergalactic kids' movie. But it follows the same formula of past Pixar movies and plays it too safe.

The animation company's latest involves a lonely boy, his alien bestie, the need for communication over carnage and the saving graces of finding a friend. At least it's not 'Cars'

"Elio," the latest from Pixar, should satisfy fans of the studio's storytelling and animation when it releases this week.
