In a split verdict, hip-hop mogul Sean 'Diddy' Combs was found guilty of two of the five charges he faced but was acquitted of the most serious charge, racketeering conspiracy, capping a high-profile trial in Manhattan federal court.

For someone to be convicted of RICO charges, the Justice Department says, a pattern of crimes must be proven that includes at least two instances of racketeering committed within a ten-year period and as part of a long-term association with an “enterprise” formed to carry out criminal activities.

A federal court jury in the Sean “Diddy” Combs case rejected the government’s theory that he ran a criminal enterprise that helped him carry out serious crimes.
