Louisiana and other northern portions of the Gulf Coast aren't expected to see any effects from the system or any other tropical activity for the next few days.

Forecasters say the system will track across the southwestern Gulf over the next day or two, before moving inland over southern Texas or northeastern Mexico Friday. Heavy rain, localized flooding, and gusty winds are expected across parts of the Gulf Coast.
